Dearest friends and members of CMAA Oregon Chapter:
Construction is still booming here in the beautiful Pacific Northwest and so is the CMAA Oregon Chapter. We have had more events than ever before, our membership continues to grow, and we continue to coordinate with other professional organizations in the region on joint and co-sponsored events. Here is a reminder of the great events we’ve hosted and what to look forward to in the coming months:
What Have We Been Up To:
In January, our ongoing series of Construction Law events continued with Jeremy Vermilyea presenting case studies of issues surrounding the bidding process. Our March event featured regional land use expert Christe White discussing the new City of Portland Comprehensive Plan and the effects on construction.
In early April, CMAA organized an informational outreach event for Portland Public Schools and their $700M bond program. Then, we turned right around and hosted a great site tour of the recently completed US Postal Service facility near PDX. Finally, on May 4th, we had a great presentation on the South Waterfront Brownfield Initiative.
We have found that hosting our events in and around downtown or close-in Portland is best for most attendees but please feel free to let us know if you have any new ideas for future venues. How about a site tour of your project? If you think it would interesting and informative to others, please let us know if you're willing to be a host.
We thank our event hosts and presenters, who without, the Chapter would not be able to provide these quality educational events. Check the website frequently to stay up to date, http://www.cmaaoregon.com
